Annual Charity Golf Tournament
A Tradition of Giving
The SSMADC’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held each summer at Sault Ste. Marie’s Crimson Ridge Golf Club, is a cherished event that consistently sells out and raises substantial funds for vital community causes. Each year, this event sees a remarkable increase in the amount raised, with the most recent tournament bringing in an impressive $24,000. These funds are carefully distributed among selected beneficiaries who provide essential support and services to our community.

$21,000 Raised at the 21st Annual SSMADC Charity Golf Tournament!
We are thrilled to announce that this year’s SSMADC Charity Golf Tournament was a resounding success, raising an impressive $20,000 for our chosen charities, despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the tireless efforts of our sponsors, volunteers, and participants. Your commitment and generosity have once again demonstrated the power of community coming together for a great cause.
However, as we celebrate this success, our hearts are heavy with the loss of Laurie Alfano, a cherished member of our tournament committee this year representing Funding for Chemo Cold-Caps Sault Ste. Marie. Laurie’s dedication and enthusiasm were instrumental in making this event the success it was, and her absence is deeply felt by all who knew her. We extend our sincere condolences to the Alfano and Porco families during this difficult time. Laurie’s spirit will continue to inspire us, and her contributions to the tournament this year will never be forgotten.
This year’s proceeds will benefit four deserving charities: Algoma Manor Nursing Home , The Ontario Finnish Resthome Association , Funding for Chemo Cold Caps-Sault Ste Marie Ontario , and the Sault Ste. Marie Down Syndrome Society . Your participation directly supported these vital organizations, making a meaningful impact in our community.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Crimson Ridge and Embers On The Ridge for their incredible partnership and support. Your roles in facilitating this event are deeply appreciated and have been crucial to its success.
