Air Canada has suspended its plan to gradually resume operations after the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) directed its flight attendant members not to return to work. As a result, all Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flights have been cancelled until further notice.

Flights operated by Air Canada Express, including those by Jazz and PAL Airlines, are not affected. This means all flights to and from Sault Ste. Marie Airport, which are operated by Jazz, continue to operate as scheduled. However, passengers with onward or connecting flights on Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge may be impacted by the cancellations.

Air Canada has introduced a flexible rebooking and refund policy. Customers scheduled to travel between August 15 and August 20, who purchased their tickets or redeemed Aeroplan points on or before August 17, can change their flights free of charge to another date between August 22 and September 30, 2025. Passengers with non-refundable fares may cancel their itineraries and receive credit in their Air Canada Wallet or as a Future Travel Credit. Full refunds are also available upon request for unused tickets purchased on or before August 15 for travel between August 18 and August 19 on Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge.

Further details, including frequently asked questions, are available on the Air Canada website at www.aircanada.com.
