A few helpful tips can go a long way to help you be prepared to fly. Keep these key reminders top of mind the next time you move through the Sault Ste. Marie Airport and you will be ready to easily navigate changes at the airport.
Make sure to arrive well in advance of your scheduled departure. Allow time for your drive to the airport and to get through security. Aim to be at the airport at least two hours before a domestic flight.
Our terminal is open 24/7, with onsite security available at all times.
Checking in before you get to the Sault Ste. Marie Airport takes another step out of your next trip. Our carriers offer online check-in for your convenience.
Check-in Early: Be sure to check in at least 60 minutes prior to your flight for Air Canada, 45 minutes for Porter Airlines and 30 minutes for Bearskin Airlines.
Check-in Closing Times:
Bearskin Airlines: Check-in and baggage drop-off close 30 minutes before departure.
Porter Airlines: Check-in and baggage drop-off close 45 minutes before departure.
Air Canada: Check-in and baggage drop-off close 60 minutes before departure.

Hand Sanitizer stations are located throughout the terminal for encouraged traveler use at each stage of the travelling experience.
For passenger convenience, there are two parking lots available. Please note that if you are picking up a travelling passenger you must park in the Short Term parking lot where you can park for free for 15 minutes. Parking is not permitted in front of the terminal building. To enter either parking lot, passengers must take a bar coded ticket upon entry. The gated system will allow travellers to pay by cash or debit/credit card at the pay station in the terminal building which is located adjacent to the security office, or by debit or credit card at the exit gates. Tap is available at the pay station and the exit gates. The bar coded ticket must be used to exit either lot. Both lots are well lit and randomly patrolled 24 hours a day.
