A holiday storm with high winds and ice crippled the Sault Ste. Marie airport for four days, cancelling 50 flights. Officials say its lakeside location made impacts far worse than other northern Ontario airports.

Travelers flying through Sault Ste. Marie Airport (YAM) have something new to look forward to! Bearskin Airlines has introduced enhanced comfort and capacity on select flights across its northern Ontario network. Starting January 5, the Dash 8 aircraft will operate on key routes, including:
Thunder Bay (YQT) ? Sault Ste. Marie (YAM) ? Sudbury (YSB) ? North Bay (YYB)
